Anna Gvarishvili

Journalist and editor, closely following the state of liberal democratic values in Georgia. Currently leading the Investigative Media Lab at the University of Georgia, on a mission to make investigative journalism go viral among young and emerging professionals.

Brian Cooksey

Brian is an independent researcher and consultant. He is a regular contributor to the Elephant (Nairobi) and Africa Confidential (London). He was associated with exposing the Independent Power Tanzania Ltd (IPTL) and the Tegeta Escrow scandals which involved the looting of more than USD120m from the Bank of Tanzania in 2013-14. Brian has worked with a number of Tanzanian NGOs and is currently a research advisor to the Centre for Strategic Litigation. Brian is also a member of Transparency International’s Council and Research Advisor to TI’s African Chapter.

Josaphat Finogbe

Josaphat is an investigative journalist and climate fact-checker based in Benin. Heis currently a copy Editor at PesaCheck, an indigenous fact-checking organization incubated by Code For Africa. He is the manager of Sunvi Média Communication, a website focused on African’s news and was an Open Climate Reporting Initiative trainee in 2022.

Jonathan Moens

Jonathan has a background in cognitive neuroscience but now work as an independent science & investigative journalist, writing for publications like NYT, Washington Post, and National Geographic.

Muhammad Daud Khan

Muhammad Daud Khan is an award-winning environmental multimedia journalist currently based in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North-West Pakistan.

Jeff Joseph

Jeff Joseph is a journalist from India with a passion for investigative reporting and long-form storytelling. He has covered a wide range of topics, from social and political issues and human rights to environmental concerns, Indigenous rights and climate change. He likes to delve deep into complex issues to write meticulously researched and in-depth articles through extensive ground reportage.

Steve Bochardt

Steve is a Geographer and Data Scientist with a special focus on sustainable development issues. He has been involved in various projects ranging from tackling deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon or analyzing the potential of Community Based Ecotourism for Kyrgyz mountain communities to supporting green mobility initiatives through the Climate Alliance Tyrol. He is currently working as consultant to the European Commission on the Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals to support the implementation process of the Sustainable Development Goals and their mainstreaming into the European Policy context.

Svenja Beller

Svenja Beller is a freelance journalist and book author and has been reporting on environmental issues for more than 10 years. She has contributed to various media outlets, including Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin (DE), Das Magazin (CH), Die Zeit (DE) and Geo (DE).
