Jurgena is an environmental scientist specialized in biodiversity protection, and ecosystem services. She is currently working as a GIS specialist on environmental disaster management, and supports with monitoring and impact assessment of worldwide environmental disasters. She is also advocating for nature protection, working with several youth organizations. Jurgena is one of the team members of the youth organization Biodiversity Action Europe (BAE) which focuses on reversing biodiversity loss in Europe and beyond through advocating and campaigning.

Estacio is a Mozambican journalist who advises Oxpeckers on a broad range of environmental problems in the region. He has covered a range of environmental investigations for Zambeze daily newspaper and international media. He helped establish Zambeze and is newsroom chief editor in Quelimane, in northern Mozambique. Bakary was awarded a prize in 2019 for a series of major reports on juvenile prostitution in Abidjan and the pimping networks. This work led to the removal of a Nigerian pimping network in Abidjan and the release of several young victims.
