Hanene Zbiss

Hanene won several Arab and international awards such as the Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of press (2014) and the Raef Badawi Award for Courageous Journalists (2019) done by Friedrich Naumann Foundation. She was nominated for the Global Shining Light Award, done by the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) in October 2015. She produced several investigations on subjects such as corruption, terrorism, health, environment and education, in Tunisia and in Iraq. She participated to the “Implant Files” project with the ICIJ and is the President of the Francophone Press Union’s Tunisian Section (UPF).

Ugochi Anyaka

Ugochi Anyaka is a passionate award winning Freelance environmental journalist with a focus on development and climate change and winner of a Young Environmental Journalist award by UNEP (United Nations Environmental Programme). She also won a fellowship for the climate change media partnership (CCMP) and also had the opportunity to cover the COP16 (United Nations Climate Change Conference). Ugochi enjoys sparking debates on climate change and created, produced and presented over 100 episodes of Nigeria’s most popular environmental television show called Green Angle on the channel TVC News. She currently works as a freelancer.

Adrian Dohotaru

Adrian is a journalist and environmental advocate currently based in Romania. He is the executive director of Sustainable Organized Society S.O.S Association, with whom we convinced the city hall of Cluj to accept its use as the largest green public space instead of a private real estate development. As a parliamentary he initiated two environmental legislative initiatives: a new law on green spaces and legal framework on natural urban protected areas. He advocates for green mobility and he worked on environmental racism in Romanian ghettos.

Ry Covington

Ry leads SkyTruth’s conservation technology program. His work combines geographic information science (GIS), remote sensing, and machine learning to identify, map, and monitor threats to the planet. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he studied the spatial dynamics of environmental impact assessment. Before joining SkyTruth in 2017, Ry led the spatial science program at Defenders of Wildlife. Most recently he developed his own consulting firm in GIS, Machine Learning, Database management and Data vizualisation: Honeybee Labs.

Anna Gvarishvili

Journalist and editor, closely following the state of liberal democratic values in Georgia. Currently leading the Investigative Media Lab at the University of Georgia, on a mission to make investigative journalism go viral among young and emerging professionals.

Rukaia Alabadi

Rukaia Al-Abadi is a Syrian journalist who works as an independent investigative journalist with open sources and currently resides in Paris. She has worked as a correspondent in the Syrian war, documenting human rights violations in the Syrian conflict, in addition to producing investigations on climate change.

Jonathan Moens

Jonathan has a background in cognitive neuroscience but now work as an independent science & investigative journalist, writing for publications like NYT, Washington Post, and National Geographic.

Elie Kaboré

Elie has been an investigative journalist in Burkina Faso for the past 10 years, and an overall journalist since 17 years. He has a strong focus on the mining sector, on which he specializes his reports, articles and investigations, notably from the angle of corruption, illicit financial flows and democracy. He now works regularly for the Economiste du Faso, after several years working with L’Indépendant. Elie is also a member of the Norbert Zongo Cell for Investigative Journalism in West Africa (CENOZO), a regional hub of investigative journalists based in West Africa, which notably participated to the West African Leaks
