Elfredah Kevin-Alerechi is a freelance multimedia investigative journalist from Nigeria, who is passionate about environmental justice. She has covered several stories about climate change including environmental pollution caused by British Shell and its successor, Eroton. the impact of constant gas flaring by the Italian company Eni/Agip, and the failure of Total E&P to pay compensation to host communities after destroying the environment, including farmlands and biodiversity, among other things. Mustapha K Darboe is an investigative journalist with Malagen, Gambia’s first specialized investigative journalism newspaper. He currently serves as a news editor for the paper he founded with a colleague in 2020. Malagen has since published over 10 investigations, mainly on public sector corruption. Darboe is the Banjul correspondent for Turkey News Agency and cooperated on a cross-border investigation relating to wood trafficking between Senegal & Gambia, spanning out from CiFAR “Investigate West Africa” training & mentoring program, in 2021-2022, in partnership with RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse), with Dimitri Zufferey and Mariama Thiam.

Mais is an Investigative Journalist, International Media Trainer and Training Designer. She has conducted training programs for hundreds of journalists in the Middle East and North Africa and has worked with international training centers in Europe and USA such as the Radio Netherlands Training Center, Arizona University, International Center of Journalism and Internews. She is a brave and talented investigative journalist who has covered the Syrian war for 10 years long and EIF team member representative for environmental investigative initiatives in the Middle East region.

Aïda is an independent environmental journalist currently based in Tunis. After having completed a master’s degree in political philosophy, she joined the team of Cash Investigation, a major investigative journalism TV show in France. She then contributed to Inkyfada, an independent Tunisian investigation media. Passionate about ecology related stories, her work mainly focuses on environmental and agricultural issues along with their social and health consequences. She has notably conducted a transborder investigation concerning a major waste affair between Italy and Tunisia. She is a fellow of the Earth Journalism Network.

Josaphat is an investigative journalist and climate fact-checker based in Benin. Heis currently a copy Editor at PesaCheck, an indigenous fact-checking organization incubated by Code For Africa. He is the manager of Sunvi Média Communication, a website focused on African’s news and was an Open Climate Reporting Initiative trainee in 2022.

Baron Nkoy is a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker on economic and social development in the Democratic Republic of Congo and producer of the blog-magazine “Le reportage”. He uses the platform Le Reportage to address issues of poverty, social injustice, environment, economic inequality by giving voice to local people, community leaders, farmers, environmentalists and/or activists. In 2022, he participated to EIF’s initated investigation on French oil & gas giant Perenco in DRC which was featured as a chapter of Investigate Europe & Disclose‘s “Perenco Files” investigative series, which led to the company being prosecuted on the day of publication of

Mr. Isine is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Guardpost.ng and one of Africa’s most respected investigative journalists, journalism teacher, research fellow, and activist with over 23 years of experience. He was one of the founding Managing Editor of Next Edition Newspaper, and former Senior Editor and Editor with Premium Times and Leadership newspapers, respectively. His career spans 23 years and straddles the broadcast, print and multimedia journalism. His acclaimed work has led him to receive various national and regional awards. He is currently a board member of the Norbert Zongo Cell for Investigative Journalism in West Africa (CENOZO).
