He currently serves as a news editor for the paper he founded with a colleague in 2020. Malagen has since published over 10 investigations, mainly on public sector corruption. Darboe is the Banjul correspondent for Turkey News Agency and cooperated on a cross-border investigation relating to wood trafficking between Senegal & Gambia, spanning out from CiFAR “Investigate West Africa” training & mentoring program, in 2021-2022, in partnership with RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse), with Dimitri Zufferey and Mariama Thiam.
