Rukaia Al-Abadi is a Syrian journalist who works as an independent investigative journalist with open sources and currently resides in Paris. She has worked as a correspondent in the Syrian war, documenting human rights violations in the Syrian conflict, in addition to producing investigations on climate change. She received the Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press in 2022 and was shortlisted in the investigative reporting category of The Fetisov Journalism Awards 2021 for a cross-border investigation. She currently serves as a supervisor of investigations with the Syrian Women Journalists Network, a network dedicated to feminist media and advocating for the rights of women working in the media field and human rights defenders.
