Daniela Sala is a freelance photographer and investigative journalist. She worked in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Gaza covering the climate crisis, water scarcity, the role of the oil industry and the EU companies in water grabbing in Iraq, and water weaponisation in NE Syria. She also covered the coal phase-out in Eastern Europe, and her investigation on coal power plants under-declaring CO2 emissions was published by OCCRP. She is the recipient of multiple grants by the Journalism Fund for Environmental Investigation. Her works are regularly published by European and international media, including The Guardian, Der Spiegel, El Paìs, Al Jazeera, Al Monitor, Il Venerdì di Repubblica, Trouw, De Morgen, Elle, Rai Radio Tre, RaiNews24 and others.
